One of the key innovations that characterizes the Kef Q11 is the Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™). This revolutionary technology is able to eliminate 99% of high-frequency distortions, ensuring a more natural and clean sound. MAT acts as an “acoustic black hole”, absorbing unwanted frequencies coming from the back of the tweeter, greatly improving sonic clarity.

At the heart of the Kef Q11 is the 12th generation Uni-Q driver, enhanced by the integration with the MAT. This driver array has been optimized to maximize the performance of the MAT, reducing resonances and improving the precision of acoustic details. The Uni-Q system allows the sound to spread evenly throughout the environment, creating an immersive listening experience.

Three Way Design

The Kef Q11 uses a three-way configuration, separating the high, mid and low frequencies for better sound management. This configuration optimizes the performance of the Uni-Q driver, allowing the tweeter to operate on a more stable surface and reducing distortion in the mid-low frequency range. The result is a more detailed and crystal-clear sound reproduction.

To handle the low frequencies, the Kef Q11 features a hybrid woofer with an aluminum structure that provides rigidity, allowing a pistonic movement for faster and more powerful bass. This innovation, combined with a 3D optimized surround geometry, ensures precise bass control even at high volumes.
