The Denon PMA-3000NE is an extremely powerful and audiophile analogue stereo amplifier, capable of driving even notoriously difficult speakers effortlessly and in exceptional quality. The 2 x 80 watts do not sound particularly spectacular on paper, but with such power behind it, almost any task can be mastered with flying colours.

On the surface, the PMA-3000NE is very similar to its predecessor, the PMA-2500NE, but countless technical solutions, from circuit layout to component selection, connection methods and sound quality tuning, are based on Denon’s lavish anniversary model, the PMA-A110, in some cases even improved. Dual transformers, Ultra AL32 processing, super-precise digital volume control and no less than four built-in audiophile D/A converters are just some of the many benefits you’ll find in this impressive stereo amplifier.

The Denon PMA-3000NE features coaxial, optical and USB digital audio inputs. This allows you to use it as a great D/A converter (DAC) with 32-bit audio upsampling for all your digital audio sources such as CD players and a wireless streaming solution. This is where Denon's HEOS system comes in, which is 100% integrated into the amplifier and is a perfect solution, both in terms of functionality and sound.

Via the asynchronous USB input, you can also use the PMA-3000NE for crystal-clear digital playback of your PC/Mac music collection, including high-resolution music files up to 32-bit/384kHz. In short, you can get sound quality from all your digital music sources that you never thought possible, without the need for an external DAC and cables.

An advanced and exclusive version of Denon's famous UHC-MOS single-push-pull circuit has given the PMA-3000NE enormous power resources. It can produce peak loads of up to 210 amps without compromising the spectacular delicacy of the sound. You'll quickly realize that 80 watts can sound like something others would need three figures to measure.

With this raw power behind it, you can confidently pair the PMA-3000NE with most serious hi-fi speakers on the market and achieve spectacular sonic results. Stable and steady construction

Compared to smaller Denon amplifiers, the Denon PMA-3000NE is extremely heavy, weighing in at almost 25 kilos. This is to stabilize the electrical structure and deliver even better sound. Externally, this is clearly visible in the heavy aluminum panels on the sides of the housing and the slightly larger housing, which provides space for two transformers, each of which could have been used in a less ambitious amplifier.

The top and bottom panels are heavy sandwich constructions made of 1.6 mm thick steel plates, and the transformers are “suspended” with different vibration-damping materials to eliminate mechanical interference. The heat sinks are also made of materials of different thicknesses to suppress even the last remnants of resonance.

Completely separate sections for maximum sound quality

The Denon PMA-3000NE consists of 6 individually shielded blocks with separate power supply stages for the two channels. This prevents interference between the power supply, preamplifier and power amplifier section. Denon's so-called LC (Leakage Cancelling) system uses dual transformers and power supplies in parallel to automatically eliminate mutual radiation. All internal wiring is made of exclusive OFC copper.

The tone controls and the extra-large volume control are digitally controlled, but still provide the pleasant feeling of solid controls. Thanks to their high precision and ultra-stable design, the volume control contributes significantly to the stability of the stereo image, in which channel separation and detail are maintained even at very low volumes. When playing analog music sources, all digital circuitry can be turned off to eliminate the risk of high-frequency noise (analog mode). Source Direct allows you to route the audio signal without the audio controls.

Hi-Res Audio: The Ultimate in Music Enjoyment

The Denon PMA-3000NE supports high-resolution music files (Hi-Res Audio) up to 24-bit/192 kHz via the optical and coaxial inputs and even up to 32-bit/384 kHz via the USB input on the rear panel. The asynchronous technology of the Denon PMA-3000NE also optimizes the so-called “clock” during USB transfer from the PC to avoid jitter noise (digital distortion in the time domain) that deteriorates the audio. You can enjoy this audiophile detail whether you listen to music in normal or high-resolution.

Some streaming services (for example TIDAL Max, Qobuz and Roon) already stream music in HD quality and with the Denon PMA-3000NE you can take full advantage of high-resolution music streamed, for example, via a HEOS music streamer.

Ultra AL32 processing and 32-bit upsampling for exceptional sound quality

The Denon PMA-3000NE features Denon's exclusive Ultra AL32 32-bit signal processing, which upsamples all music signals to a full 32-bit resolution before processing. This significantly improved resolution ensures far greater detail and precision both inside and outside the audible range. The important D/A converters also work at 32-bit.

Power Amp Direct - luxury stereo for your surround sound system

If you want both stereo and surround in the highest quality, you can use the ingenious EXT.PRE function (also known as Power Amp Direct). If your surround receiver has a pre-out, you can connect a cable to the PMA-3000NE and use it as a power amplifier for the front speakers during surround listening.

If you are going back to using CDs or music streamers, for example, you are on the safe side with the luxury stereo system. This way you can connect a surround system if you want multi-channel sound for your film collection but prefer two-channel music. It's a simple and elegant solution, which you can change at the touch of a button!

The powerful speaker connections are even duplicated, so you can easily connect two-channel speakers even with very thick cables. Alternatively, you can connect an additional speaker set. In addition, there is a high-quality, integrated and discreet MM/MC turntable input. The use of low-noise FETs in the first stage and the separate power supply ensure a sound quality that does full justice to a quality turntable.
