New MK3 evolution
Inside the brand new half-width cabinet Rega have inserted two completely separate high-quality phono stages, giving it a new look. One fully adjustable for moving coil pickups and one for moving magnet pickups. Each stage has been conceived and designed to maximize the potential of your vinyl while remaining easy to install and use.
FEATURES AND TECHNOLOGY
The Aria is an “all analog amplifier” without any digital circuitry. The all-aluminum cabinet shields the internal circuitry from any radio frequency interference. Our engineers have eliminated anything superfluous that could obstruct the signal flow and degrade the sound quality. The Aria includes many innovative ideas including a self-regulating servo control to keep the MC input circuitry at its maximum, compensating for any changes in ambient and operating temperatures.
Both stages have input and preamp circuitry. This allowed us to design a bespoke input circuit for each cartridge type without any compromises. The selection of the input signal is made at high level and low impedance, by means of relays, so as to guarantee no signal alteration.
FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE MC STADIUM
The MC input uses low noise FETs connected in parallel in a composite pair configuration. The use of FET transistors ensures that there is no bias current entering the cartridge coil so as not to interfere with the delicate magnetic geometry of the cartridge.
The MC input allows selection of the input resistance between 70 ohm and 400 ohm and the load capacitance between 1000 pF and 4200 pF. Input sensitivity can be changed by 6 dB from the rear panel.
FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITY OF THE MM STADIUM
The MM input uses low noise bipolar transistors also configured as a composite pair. There are two separate power supplies for each channel along with sub-power supplies for each of the low noise input circuits. Nichion FG electrolytic capacitors were used at critical locations throughout the power supply. Polypropylene capacitors were used in the signal and equalization circuits. Discrete component circuitry is used throughout the signal path to ensure total control of the circuit.
