The Tangent preAmp 2 audio preamplifier is the perfect travel companion for the compact but powerful PowerAmpster 2, the final amplification stage of the Danish brand. The pre + power amplifier combination is a valid alternative to the Ampster BT 2 integrated amplifier which, in a single body, is well suited to driving small good quality speakers.

In the case of medium or large rooms and floor-standing speakers, or in any case of value, the use of Tangent preAmp 2 and PowerAmpster is recommended. The combination is extremely versatile, and can reach – with two power amplifiers – 2 x 200W.

The Ampster family has always been characterized by very compact dimensions and excellent performance, especially excellent if considered in relation to the cost level of the devices, ultra-competitive. With preAmp 2 Tangent now gives the line very valuable features such as XLR connectors, pre-phono input for turntables and subwoofer output, as well as optical digital inputs and Bluetooth aptX 5.0, headphone output and much more.

The small Tangent preamplifier responds to specific needs that cannot be adequately satisfied by the, albeit excellent, Ampster BT 2. If the latter is perfect in small rooms, the Tangent preAmp 2 is chosen, for example, where the need for good sound concerns living rooms or medium or large-sized rooms. In this case, the necessary power will come from the final of the series, PowerAmp 2.

Another advantage of the brand new preAmp 2 is evident on the rear panel: the vastness of inputs it offers makes its versatility of use truly complete: analog, digital but also wireless inputs with its integrated aptX 5.0 Bluetooth receiver. In addition to liquid music, it is therefore possible to satisfy the needs of those who love vinyl, and therefore want to connect a turntable, which requires a special input called pre-phono, present in this product.

Another great innovation involves the use of XLR cables, which guarantee a balanced connection, therefore not subject to interference, as in the case of classic RCA analog cables.

Why choose the separate pre + power amplifier combination?

There are three main answers. First of all the most obvious case. Those who want to listen to music at high volume need a lot of power. So a small integrated amplifier is not enough, while the pre-amplifier and power amplifier combination offers more "muscle".

Secondly, the separate element solution guarantees a reserve of Watts which in turn allows you to choose higher-performance speakers. In this case it will also be possible to drive floor-standing speakers that need more thrust.

Thirdly, the pre + power amplifier combination allows you to have an even more crystalline and clean sound, to listen better even at low volumes, which is perhaps the most important thing of all in the world of High Fidelity.

Pair it with other products from the Ampster line

This compact preamplifier requires a power amplifier. The ideal companion is the Tangent PowerAmpster 2, which is also small but extremely powerful and musical.

You can then complete the system with other electronics from the Ampster family: Ampster Tuner 2 and Ampster CD 2. In the same form factor, size and dimensions, you can equip yourself with a small CD player or an FM and DAB + radio.

All the components, which enjoy the same minimalist Scandinavian design, can be easily stacked, with three or even four stacked electronics that take up little space and become a truly complete HiFi system.

Cables to use with PreAmp 2

You can connect the PreAmp 2 preamplifier to the power amplifier via classic unbalanced RCA analog cables, or even better via a balanced connection, always analog, XLR, inert to interference.

The PreAmp 2 has a very complete rear panel of connections, you can connect all your favorite sources, through both analog and digital cables, as well as an active subwoofer to complete your system.

Multiple inputs for every type of source

The PreAmp 2 is equipped with all the necessary inputs: analog, digital and even wireless. Thanks to the pre-phono input, you can connect a turntable, even without an integrated preamplifier. Try combining it with an Elipson turntable to listen to all your favorite vinyl!

And if your passion is streaming, but Bluetooth is not enough, you can connect the Elipson WM: the new compact streamer that reaches a resolution of 24 bit 192 Khz thanks to the Wi-Fi connection. Through the proprietary app you can access the main streaming platforms, manage Multiroom playback without having to stay near the receiver - as in the case of Bluetooth.
