QUAD 33 Preamplifier – Iconic Design and Cutting-Edge Technology

The QUAD 33 is a modern reinterpretation of the famous preamplifier launched in 1967, a true tribute to the classic QUAD model that marked the history of hi-fi. This solid-state preamplifier maintains the unmistakable “Industrial” design that made QUAD a legendary brand, with a compact chassis that recalls the vintage style of the original model, enriched by a modern LCD display and orange LED backlit buttons.

Technical Features

Analog Circuitry and Digital Control: The QUAD 33 combines 100% analog electronics with a digital microprocessor for control of the functions, ensuring precise and uncompromising regulation.

Linear Power Supply with Custom Transformer: The power supply is equipped with a custom-made ultra-low-noise toroidal transformer, five regulation rails and ultra-low-noise capacitors for a clean and stable power supply.

Optimized Signal Paths: Signal paths are designed to be as short and direct as possible, preserving the integrity of the sound and minimizing any possible interference.

Advanced Adjustment Functions

Motorized ALPS Volume Control: Equipped with a precision ALPS potentiometer, it allows for smooth and precise volume adjustment, with the possibility of remote control.

Audiophile Adjustments for Bass, Tilt and Balance: Thanks to three rotary encoders, the QUAD 33 allows you to adjust bass, tilt and balance in a meticulous way, preserving the timbral and harmonic purity of the signal.

Integrated MM/MC Phono Stage: It features a high-performance phono preamplifier for MM and MC cartridges, with a high gain (63.5 dB for MC and 46 dB for MM), making it ideal for vinyl enthusiasts.

Outputs and Connectivity

Multiple Stereo Inputs and Outputs: The QUAD 33 offers a wide range of connections, including balanced XLR inputs, unbalanced RCA inputs and a switchable MM/MC phono input.

Versatile Outputs: Includes balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs (Pre-Out and AUX), plus a Current-Feedback headphone output, compatible with impedances from 20 to 600 Ohms.

Trigger and LCD Display: Two 12V trigger ports allow integration with other devices, while the backlit LCD display makes it easy to manage settings.

Impeccable Audio Performance

Frequency Response and Minimal Distortion: With a linear frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and a total harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 0.0005% (Line RCA/XLR) and 0.002% (Phono MM/MC), the QUAD 33 guarantees faithful and detailed reproduction.

High Signal to Noise Ratio: Ensures minimal noise with a S/N Ratio of over 108 dB (Line RCA/XLR), 82 dB (Phono MM) and 74 dB (Phono MC).

General Specifications

Finish and Dimensions: Available in the classic QUAD Grey color, the QUAD 33 measures 258 x 83 x 165 mm, with a weight of 4 kg, and comes with a remote control for convenient use.

With the QUAD 33, technological innovation meets audiophile tradition to offer a superior sound experience, faithful to the original sound but projected into the future.
