Dual was the first company to introduce in 1973 the first direct drive electronic turntable made in Europe, the famous fully automatic Dual 701, which revolutionized the world of turntables making them more usable.
For decades, Dual's direct drive turntables have been renowned for their quality and reliability and to this day production continues using the experience of the past and using new technological resources, bringing to light ever higher quality turntables.
Among them is definitely the CS 618Q model, an elegant direct drive turntable that offers a solid build and convenient features for the vinyl lover.
It is in fact made of a solid MDF plinth, on which a heavy die-cast aluminum plate rests, under the plinth there are stabilizing feet with anti-vibration integrated in the elastometer that reduce unwanted resonances, for a cleaner reproduction.
The brushless direct drive motor is quartz stabilized to deliver a totally stable RPM speed while running vibration-free and completely quiet.
This motor features semi-automatic functionality, as it stops and raises the arm at the end of each record, thus preventing the needle from being damaged.
For the more purists, however, there is a switch on the back that allows you to exclude the automatic operation to make the turntable absolutely manual.
The tonearm, on the other hand, is based on an ingenious double gimbal design with pivoting ball bearings, which allows the lightweight straight aluminum arm to read every groove of the record in depth with extreme precision.
That tonearm features a factory-fitted Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge that is a real gem, echoing the qualities of the 2M series, offering balanced performance and great sonic accuracy.
The CS 618Q plays 33, 45 and 78 rpm records and a switchable built-in phono preamp allows you to connect it to a standard RCA input on the back of your amplifier or directly to a pair of powered speakers.
This turntable comes standard with a dust cover and a black vinyl finish, while the more elegant special finish with walnut veneer or gloss black vinyl is optional for a small surcharge.
